FP 05 Competent Person
After learning some of the basics of hazard recognition and personal fall arrest this course prepares a user or supervisor to deal with all aspects of fall protection at a job site. This includes knowledge of local regulations, preplanning, equipment acquisition, installation of fall arrest systems and anticipating the need for permanent systems. Once completed this course, the competent person is qualified to suspend unsafe work , conduct periodic inspections of all fall arrest systems and consult with workers on the use of fall arrest on the job. It does not qualify the student to teach fall protection courses.
